Counselling Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

CBT is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on exploring the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It helps clients identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier coping strategies.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR):

EMDR is a therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. Using eye movements or other types of bilateral stimulation, EMDR aims to reduce the distress associated with traumatic memories and help individuals reprocess traumatic memories, reduce emotional distress, and promote healing and resilience.

The Gottman Method: Couples Therapy

Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this therapy approach focuses on improving communication, increasing intimacy, and resolving conflicts in couples. It provides tools and strategies to enhance the quality and stability of relationships.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT):

SFBT is a goal-oriented therapy that focuses on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It highlights clients' strengths and resources, helping them identify their desired future and find practical steps to achieve their goals.
